Beauty queen returns to nursing to help amidst corona outbreak

Miss Universe Ireland 2018 Grainne Gallanagh is ready to fulfill her duty as a nurse amidst the coronavirus crisis, to help relieve short-staffed hospitals. Grainne has kept her pageant crown aside and wore the scrubs and gloves again, as now is the time to show her kindness for such a humanitarian cause.

The beauty queen qualified as a nurse in 2016 and served as a nurse in the UK for years before moving ahead to make a career in modeling and later to be crowned as Miss Universe Ireland 2018.

Grainne has decided to return to nursing as part of the HSE's Call for Ireland recruitment drive for healthcare staff, which has seen over 50,000 people applying to help.

The gorgeous beauty expressed her feelings on returning to nursing in a post captioned, “I'll be a bit nervous going back, but obviously with everything going on it's the best thing to do. I'm not sure what to expect. I have colleagues who are already during everything in the hospitals right now and it's such a stressful environment anyway. Hats off to anyone who works in a hospital - I know what it can be like, it can be so, so stressful... and we don't know what way things are going to go. It's so uncertain, it's a scary time, it's scary for everyone but I think especially for people in hospital."

She also strongly believes that her vital healthcare skills would be ‘waste’ if they went unused during a pandemic. She has proven that she is an epitome of what a beauty queen personifies.
