Catriona Gray Thinks Liza Soberano Has What It Takes To Be A Miss Universe

'I feel like she would be wonderful.'

Catriona Gray has revealed who among ABS-CBN stars she thinks has the makings of a Miss Universe.

During the contract signing of her book with ABS-CBN Publishing, Conquering Your Universe, the 2018 Miss Universe named Liza Soberano.

"Well, everyone always wanted Liza to join, ‘di ba?" Catriona responded to reporters.

She also emphasized that it has to be something that Liza wants to do, too.

"She's very, very beautiful and I feel like she would be wonderful, but I really feel that it needs to be the girl that wants to do it. Even if you have so many people say 'Yes, this is for you, this is your path,' unless you feel it, it needs to be your passion and your own will."

Liza has in the past been urged to join the beauty pageant, something which she has not considered pursuing because of her acting career.

"Right now, I think I'm just too busy to think about it and I really want to focus on my acting career because it's my dream to make it far as it goes when it comes to acting," Liza shared in a 2017 episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda. At the time, she was busy preparing for Darna.

She also expressed her hesitation because of the intense pressure that surrounds the competition but said entering the pageant could be a possibility in the future.

"And when it comes to Miss Universe, I don't think I'd be able to handle all the pressure. But you know I'm not closing any doors, maybe in the future, if ever I do decide to join the pageant. As of now, I don't have any plans."

Liza is currently working on her teleserye with Enrique Gil, Make It With You, which airs in 2020.
