AUBURN — Katie Stam Irk, Miss America 2009, will be signing copies of her newly released book, “Merely Moving Shadows: A 10-Week Devotional Guide to Living God’s Purpose Through His Plan” on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at Bowls Frozen Desserts, located at 1051 Smaltz Way in Auburn.
The book signing is a fundraiser for the Miss Northeast Scholarship Pageant’s scholarship fund.
Stam Irk was the first representative from the state of Indiana to be crowned Miss America in the pageant’s 88-year history. Former Auburn resident Megan Meadors Roberts assumed Katie’s duties as Miss Indiana. Since passing on the title of Miss America, she has been on a national speaking tour as an advocate of agriculture, faith and service.
For those unable to attend the book signing, autographed copies of the devotional may be purchased by emailing MissNortheastIN@gmail.com through 2 p.m. eastern time Friday.
