Lorraine Kelly was put in her place by the former Miss World 1970 runner-up Pearl Jansen on Tuesday.

Pearl, 70, was appearing on Lorraine to discuss the upcoming movie Misbehaviour - which follows the events surrounding the disrupted 1970 beauty pageant in which she took part as a 20-year-old.

But the ex-Miss Africa South took issue with the chat show host's constant interruptions while she was trying to talk.

Shhh! Lorraine Kelly was put in her place by the former Miss World 1970 runner-up Pearl Jansen on Tuesday

By the end of the segment she had had it, when trying to answer a question about what she feels personally about the film being made.

'Right, listen, before - sorry - before you interrupt me!' she snapped at the 60-year-old, before stating that Lorraine had asked her a question and that she was going to answer it.

Lorraine kept quiet and let Pearl say her piece, explaining that the film 'has given me the opportunity to meet [Miss World winner] Jennifer [Hosten] in person.

'Because of Misbehaviour we are getting the opportunity to get together,' she said.

Pearl appeared on the show alongside Loreece Harrison, who plays her in the film.

They also discussed the fact that Pearl was known as Miss Africa South, rather than South Africa.

She said: '[They said], "Pearl you're going to be miss Africa South". This didn’t matter to me at the time - I thought I’m going to have this amazing opportunity, that's what mattered to me at the time.

'I think it celebrates more than [beauty]. I’m talking from a South African perspective - the girls entering this competition are going for the opportunity, they're not concerned about that.

'To me it didn't matter, I came from the apartheid era so this was an opportunity.'

Loreece talked about how things have changed for Miss World as a competition.

She said: 'When you look at where we are now in comparison it is mind-blowing - the rise of the women’s liberation movement and the change when the first black woman won!

She's had it up to here! Lorraine kept quiet and let Pearl say her piece, explaining that the film 'has given me the opportunity to meet [Miss World winner] Jennifer [Hosten] in person

Reunion: 'Because of Misbehaviour we are getting the opportunity to get together,' she said

'I think there’s a way to go but I don’t think there’s a problem with a woman enjoying that stage and enjoying that moment [of the Miss World competition].'

Pearl explained that back in the day they would measure the women's 'buttocks, hips, that kind of things' and that she's glad 'this isn't happening today, not at all'.

'I didn’t think in my time that I was flaunting my body,' she added.
