Juhi Chawla is presently being lauded for her latest performance in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga which also stars Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. It is a known fact that Juhi also happens to be one of the actresses who was catapulted to fame after emerging victorious at renowned beauty pageants such as Miss India or Miss World.
For those unaware, as many as 35 years ago, Juhi Chawla was crowned Miss India Universe in the year 1984. The Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani actress had also gone on to win the Best National Costume Award at the Miss Universe 1984 at the young age of just 17.
However, in a much lesser-known fact, you wouldn’t believe who was the one to crown the Gulaab Gang actress. Hint: It was another timeless actress. Can’t guess?
Well, the answer is Rekha and in this photo that we found, the legendary Umrao Jaan actress can be seen placing the crown upon the Bhoothnath actress.

Among other actresses who won at a beauty pageant and made it big in Bollywood include legendary actress Nutan, who had won the Miss India title in 1952 and Sushmita Sen, who had won the Miss Universe title in 1994 – the first Indian to have done so.
Other actresses include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who won Miss World 1994, the second Indian Miss World ever after Reita Faria and none other than Priyanka Chopra, who became Miss World in 2000 and after conquering Bollywood is already establishing her presence internationally.
