Carlos Correa and his wife Daniella Rodriguez have a lot to celebrate after he and the Mets agreed to a 12-year, $315 million contract early Wednesday morning.

After the Giants postponed Correa’s introductory news conference on Tuesday, reportedly due to an undisclosed medical issue that popped up during his physical, the Mets swooped in and landed the former first overall pick in the 2012 MLB draft.

Now, Correa and Daniella, who’s expecting the couple’s second child, will relocate to New York with their son Kylo, who turned 1 last month.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year since I held you for the first time,” Daniella wrote in a birthday tribute on Instagram. “I don’t know how I used to live before that. As hard as being a mommy can be I can’t imagine a day without you.

“You have taught me so much about myself throughout this process. You might not remember this year but you’ve giving me some of the best memories I could have ever asked for. Happiest Birthday to the wildest baby.”

At the time, Correa shared photos of the family at a Mickey Mouse-themed birthday party, writing, “The most special year of my life. Happy Birthday Baby Kylo. I love you with all my being.”

The couple revealed in October that they are expecting their second child sometime in 2023.

“2 under 2! LET’S DO IT,” they wrote in a joint Instagram announcement.

Daniella is a former model and Miss Texas 2016, as well as Miss Texas Teen 2013. Now, she is an entrepreneur as the owner/founder of Sweet D, a cruelty-free, vegan and paraben-free cosmetic company. She is also a YouTuber, according to her Instagram bio.

The Texas A&M alum majored in teaching, and acted in a number of independent films for the University of Texas.

Correa proposed to Daniella mid-interview on live television in November 2017, after the Astros defeated the Dodgers to win their first World Series in franchise history. They tied the knot in January 2020. 

When Correa left the Astros to sign with the Minnesota Twins in March, Daniella reflected on the couple’s engagement in an emotional farewell note to Houston.

“To our Houston family, Where do I even begin?” Daniella wrote at the time. “You have watched my husband grow from a young boy to a strong leader. You have seen our relationship grow from two love birds getting engaged after winning the World Series to becoming parents to our sweet boy. This city has been everything and more. The fans have been the absolute best and we have always felt your support.

“My heart is broken that our time with the Astros has come to an end but my heart will forever be filled with the precious memories of this team. Houston will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you all!.”

The MLB star reportedly met Daniella during his six-year stint with the Astros, when she threw out the first pitch during a 2016 game.
