This new deal will see the glamorous winners of the Miss Universe, Miss UAE and Miss Teen UAE pageants each adorned with a newly designed crown, having been gloriously crafted and brought to fruition by Mouawad’s exceptional jewelry design house.

“The crown worn by each titleholder is one of the most recognizable symbols of the commitment and ambition it takes to be Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA,” said Paula M. Shugart, President of The Miss Universe Organization. “With Mouawad as our new partner, we’ll be creating crowns that celebrate the diverse community of women from around the globe who have and will continue to participate in our programs each year.”

The new crown by Mouawad will replace the current Mikimoto Crown, designed by Japanese artisan Tomohiro Yamaji, which had been worn from 2002 to 2007, and again from 2017 up to the current 2018 pageant winner, Catriona Gray. The first official Miss Universe Diamond Crown by Mouawad will make its debut at the 68th annual Miss Universe competition in 2019, where Miss Catriona Gray from the Philippines will crown her eventual successor.

Mouawad co-guardian Fred Mouawad commented on the new partnership, musing, “With Mouawad’s strong heritage of designing jewelery for royalty and our reputation for ‘crafting the extraordinary’, we are delighted to bring our savoir faire to these internationally renowned events and to craft exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces befitting modern-day royalty.”

The Miss Universe 2019, Miss USA 2020 and Miss Teen USA 2020 titleholders and their successors will also receive a keepsake tiara to own as a treasured memory of their time as reigning queens.
