Miss Diva Supranational 2019 Shefali Sood at Modern School
It was a day full of nostalgia and memories for Miss Diva Supranational 2019 Shefali Sood as she stepped out to visit her alma mater in Delhi and Noida and interact with her juniors. After a grand welcome on her arrival in Delhi, Shefali started her second day in her hometown with a visit to Modern School, Barakhamba Road, where she studied for two years. Post that she visited Apeejay School in Noida and her college. She ended the day with students from a Noida-based NGO, where she used to teach. She also visited her dance academy. “All the places that I visited are the foundation of what I am today,” said Shefali.
School time
Shefali reminisced about her days at Modern School as she walked past the playground of the school. Not just her school memories, but Shefali also shared lessons from her pageant journey with the students. “For me, it’s been a three-year journey and the one thing that I learnt is to never give up on your dreams. I learnt from my teachers and parents that failures are not bad, they inspire you to do your best,” she told the students. When the principal asked her what her crown was made of, Shefali replied, “Hard work, blood, sweat and tears, sir.”
The faculty and students of Apeejay School, Noida, gave Shefali a heartwarming welcome. The principal told everyone, “We are proud of Shefali’s achievements and we are hoping that she will emerge as a winner in the international pageant too in Poland later this year.” Shefali told her juniors that she misses gorging on spring rolls in the school canteen, and added, “I loved school so much that I had 100% attendance and I even won an award for it.”
College fun
Later, Shefali also visited her college in Noida, where she studied business administration. Elaborating on how important it is to balance studies with sports and other activities, Shefali told her juniors, “My college gave me an opportunity to explore all my passions and interests. I would participate in different fests and would give as much time to sports as to my studies.”
Helping hand
The most touching part of the day for Shefali was meeting students of an NGO where she used to teach underprivileged kids. She shared that given a chance, she would want to do that again. The students had prepared a special dance performance and nukkad natak to welcome Shefali. “It is so inspiring to be with them and see their zeal and enthusiasm,” said Shefali as she clicked selfies with students and promised to return soon. She ended her day at a dance academy in Noida, matching dance steps with her old friends.
