After India and South Africa, Miss France opens the door of opportunity for trans women

Miss France national pageant organizers hosted its coronation ceremony on the 11th December, 2021, at the Zénith de Caen in Caen, Normandy. At the event finale, Diane Leyre of Île-de-France was crowned Miss France 2022.

Following the pageant, the organization's chief announced the inclusion of transgender women in the national competition. However, the candidates would have to provide a proven record of their female civil identity with the public registry.

Earlier this year, Miss Diva, Miss South Africa, and Senorita Panama called on trans women to be a part of the national platform and win the opportunity to represent the respective country at prestigious international pageants. These organizations were highly appreciated and grabbed positive attention for their decision of inclusivity, creating history, and breaking age-old stereotypes.
