Amanda Brunker: 'I say big girls deserve to be sexy too... so don’t go skipping your mince pies'

Former Miss Ireland Amanda Brunker has spoken of her admiration for swimsuit supermodel Ashley Graham.

The 30-year-old US model, who has appeared on the cover of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, and Elle, has spoken at high schools about body image and body acceptance and is a self-proclaimed body activist.

This year Graham published her memoir “A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like” in which she provides insights into why she’s an advocate for body positivity.

Today, writing in the Sunday World, Brunker said Graham is a great role model for women.

“I thought it was a real positive step that supermodel Ashley Graham was one of the most searched-for Instagram accounts of 2017.”

“The busty babe has always refused to conform to the skinny brigade and is a wonderful ambassador for loving the skin you’re in,” she said.

“Society tries to label her as a plus-sized model, but I just think she’s a sexy babe.”

Brunker weighs in on the topic by saying that women should embrace the mince pies this festive season.

“While some haters say she is glamourising obesity, I say big girls deserve to be sexy too and can often be fitter and healthier than many skinny girls, so don’t go skipping your mince pies.”

“Life is short, enjoy your festive food and your winter body and be happy - no matter what your dress size is,” Brunker added.
