Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez only had kind words to say about her successor, Celeste Cortesi.
Beatrice Luigi Gomez believes that the Miss Universe Philippines crown is in good hands with Celeste Cortesi.
In the latest post on her Instagram account, Beatrice shared a photo of her and Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu crowning Miss Pasay Celeste Cortesi. Celeste had bested dozens of other candidates to win the coveted crown.
In the caption to the post, Beatrice wrote that everyone is already “tremendously proud” of Celeste and that she had been blessed by the “heavens.” Beatrice also expressed her confidence that Celeste will represent the country well in the 71st Miss Universe pageant, and reaffirmed her and the organization's support for Celeste.
Over the past few days, Beatrice has been sharing stories from her time as Miss Universe Philippines, such as a story about the Francis Libiran gown she wore during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 finale. In her Instagram post, she revealed that she was actually supposed to wear the gown during the 70th Miss Universe pageant.
With her reign now over, Beatrice has said that she still intends to continue with her community work, something that she was participating in even during the last few days of her reign.
Before the coronation night, Beatrice advocated for menstrual health and hygiene alongside Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu.
Last year, Beatrice was also very visible during relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Odette, holding one in Compostela, Cebu and another in Mandaue.
