Like many other young girls, Ainsley Ross was obsessed with getting dressed up and loved watching "Toddlers & Tiaras". , She found that pageants were more than sparkly dresses and gorgeous hair and makeup.
Now she serves as the 2022 Miss Louisiana Teen USA.
"It kind of allows you to be the best version of yourself to have a platform to be able to impact people around you," says Ross. "And you really learn life skills that you can take with you throughout your whole life."
Bossier City native Ainsley Ross took home the crown at the 2022 Miss Louisiana Teen pageant qualifying her to compete for Miss Teen USA.
Those skills include communication, interviews and holding yourself to a higher standard.
Ross began working as a model at 15, graduated Airline High School early at 17 and is now a successful Instagram Influencer.
She is also a nursing student at Northwestern State University hoping to follow in her parents' footsteps. She was influenced by the pandemic and was inspired by the heroic deeds of those on the frontlines.
"I just know that I want to take care of other people. I was taught from a young age the importance of taking care of others," says Ross.
There's been a big stigma around beauty pageants since their conception, but those who compete are starting to break down stereotypes to show that there is more to them than just pretty faces and sparkly dresses.
"It's beautiful women who have depth and are intelligent and have a lot to say," says Ross. "We are going to break the stereotypes and Miss USA will be the most-watched show on television again and people are going to learn that pageant girls are going to change the world."
Next up is Miss Teen USA and Ross is preparing mentally and physically to compete for the big crown and hopes that she can show young girls that they have the power to become whoever they want to be and do whatever they set their minds to in life.
