Cassia Sharpley was crowned Miss Namibia 2022 at the end of the pageant, held on August 12, at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino. The 21-year-old native from Windhoek bested 11 other finalists to succeed Miss Namibia 2021, Chelsi Shikongo. She earns the opportunity with this crown to represent her country on the international stage. Miss Namibia 2022 is expected to represent her country at Miss Universe 2022 while the first runner-up at the next Miss World edition, but we wait the confirmation by the organization.

The new Miss Namibia is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care (advanced life support). As a poverty eradication activist, Cassia founded the Honey Comb Haven Foundation to help the less fortunate members of her community.

In her presentation, she said “Entering Miss Namibia 2022 has been a calculated decision with years of preparation knowing exactly how I can impact my nation, not only national, but internationally too. I would like to invest my time in bettering the health facilities within the rural areas of the nation should I be crowned Miss Namibia 2022“. Her dream come true with her crowning.

Sharpley is not a newbie to pageantry. She finished as first runner-up at Miss Teen Namibia in 2017 and represented the country at Miss Teen Continents 2017 in Las Vegas, USA.

The 2022 Miss Nambia’s court includes

1st runner-up – Leoné Van Jaarsveld

2nd runner-up – Diana Andimba
