Many girls dream of becoming beauty queens, but everyone can’t make it. Meenakshi Chaudhary, the runner-up of Miss India 2018, makes a point that one can be a beauty with brain and many talents. The beautiful Meenakshi, who will be representing the country in the Miss Grand International 2018, to be held in Myanmar later this year, was in the city to share her success story and the road ahead on Saturday.
“Being a beauty queen was not on my list always. But once I started down the path, it was heartening to be crowned one of the winners of Miss India 2018,” she said. A student of dentistry, Meenakshi had an impeccable academic record as well. She is hopeful to bag the Miss Grand International title as well.

In its sixth year, the international beauty pageant is organised by Nawat Itsaragrisil, president of MGIO, which is based in Thailand. It is one of the world’s highly acclaimed beauty pageants, one that focuses on the advocacy of ‘Stop the War and Violence’.
With over 90 contestants from across the world participating every year since 2013, the voice of this pageant and the message it carries resonates strongly. Artika Singh, who was Femina Miss Grand India 2015, was the first one to represent India and was the second runner-up at the pageant.
Nawat Itsaragrisil, who is a Thai TV show host, professional traveller and producer, also shared his excitement on his maiden visit to India. He along with Miss Grand International 2017 winner Maria Jose Lora from Peru honoured Choudhary. “My visit to the Golden Temple was an awe inspiring moment. It was wonderful on so many levels,” said Itsaragrisil.
