FORT WAYNE - The community got together to give Miss Indiana a big send off before she leaves for the Miss America pageant in New Jersey.
The event was held for Lydia Tremaine at the Arts United Center Saturday afternoon.
Tremaine, who is from Kendallville, met with attendees and even gave a sneak peak of her wardrobe and talent performance.
This is the first time in decades Fort Wayne has had a local woman compete for Miss America.
"I've dreamed of being Miss Indiana since I was 12 years-old, so to see that actually come true is really indescribable and it's been a whirlwind to be able to be supported by Indiana and to be able to represent them, is very humbling," said Tremaine.
She will officially leave for Miss America in two weeks. The competition will air on ABC on September 9th.
