Coral Springs Dancer Awarded Third Runner-Up In 2021 Miss Florida Pageant

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – A Coral Springs dancer was awarded third runner-up in the 2021 Miss Florida pageant this weekend.

Alana Scheuerer, 23, competed against 33 other contestants in the pageant in Lakeland from Thursday to Saturday.

In a preliminary round, Scheuerer, who is Miss St. Petersburg, won an award for talent which, for her, is tap dancing, her family said.

Miss Tampa, Leah Roddenberry, was crowned Miss Florida on Saturday night, according to WWSB in Sarasota.

Roddenberry will go on to represent the state in the 100th Miss America competition later this year.

Scheuerer said Sunday she was grateful for her experience in the pageant which had one of the most competitive top 10 finishes in a long time.

"The Miss Florida Organization has truly sharpened my communication skills, given me unique experiences to engage with professionals in my field, and continues to support women in their career endeavors. I am thankful for the over $7,000 in scholarships I’ve received," she said.
