Kelley Day believes Miss Eco Int'l PHL title is meant for her

Despite aiming for the Miss World Philippines 2019 crown, Kelley Day said she believes that the Miss Eco International Philippines title is what's meant for her.

"I really wanted to go for the Miss World Philippines crown but I also knew that I'd also be so, so happy to get Miss Eco. And I actually got it!" Kelley told GMA News Online in an interview moments after she was crowned at the Miss World Philippines Smart Araneta Colisuem on Sunday.

Kelley expressed how proud she was of her fellow Kapuso star, Michelle, for earning the top crown.

"I'm so happy that Michelle Dee got the Miss World Philippines crown because she really deserves it. For me just in order for this year to be a successful one for Miss World Philippines and the whole organization I think Michelle is really the perfect person for it and I think she's gonna kill it," Kelley said.

Aside from being thrilled to represent the country in the Miss Eco International pageant in Egypt, the Kapuso star said she's also excited to travel and explore the country.

"As for me, I will do my best in Miss Eco, I'm so excited to go to Egypt para I can also go and see the pyramids because I'm very interested in conspiracy theories. Like I really wanna see it because it's fascinating," she said.

Kelley said aside from her advocacy on autoimmune diseases, she said she will also be willing to look into how she can help save the environment.

"I have a passion for biology ever since I was a kid and I would love to really get into that and help save the environment and see how we can use things from Egypt and from around the world and bring them here to the Philippines so we can also improve our environment in the Philippines," she said.

In her Miss World Philippines introduction video, Kelley broke into tears as she opened up about suffering from alopecia, an auto-immune disease that causes hair loss.

Kelley will be representing the Philippines at the Miss Eco International global pageant in Egypt.
