Any Indian contestant seemed to be able to take part in the Miss World contest and win the crown, even Diana Hayden got it. I am not criticising her but I didn’t find traits of Indian beauty in her,” he said. He added that once international cosmetics firms were able to establish themselves in the Indian market, the frequency of Indian girls winning such crowns reduced. The CM described the international fashion and design contest organisers as “international marketing mafia”, the northeasttoday.com reported. “Indian women did not use cosmetics. They didn’t use shampoo. We washed our hair with methi water for hair-fall and bathed with mud. Beauty contest organizers are international marketing mafia, who tried to capture a market of 125 crore Indians with half the population from women. There is a beauty parlour in every corner,” Deb said.Puranic period people had superhuman imagination or prototypes: Tripura GovernorDiana Hayden won the Miss World pageant in 1997, three years after Aishwarya Rai bagged it.
