SHE may not have taken home the crown, but former Sunraysia local Simone Smith has walked away from the Miss World Australia pageant with more than she could have dreamed of.
After making it to the national finals, Ms Smith was beaten by fellow Victorian and criminal profiler Esma Voloder, who was crowned during Friday night’s ceremony.
Ms Smith raised $2500 for children’s charity Variety through her participation in the pageant and is now firmly focused on her career as a speech pathologist.
“I’m now developing more of a skill set in neurological rehabilitation and I’m hoping to open my own pediatric clinic within the next 12 months,” she said following the pageant.
