Former beauty queen on franchise owner of Miss Universe

Former beauty queen Marina Benipayo recently shared her two cents about the franchise owner in the Philippines of the most celebrated annual international beauty pageant, Miss Universe.

According to reports, Chavit Singson claims to own it now, which, for years, was with the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated.

“As long as the pageant is run smoothly every year and they get enough sponsors to create a wonderful pageant it doesn’t matter to me who gets it,” she said.

Marina hopes whoever the franchise owner is, it should be able to “take care of the beauty queens” as well as “respect the womanhood and the pride of being a Filipina.”

In the end, the beauty queen extends her good wishes to the franchise owner to continue succeeding in the coming years.

The supermodel-turned-beauty queen-turned-actress first rose to fame when she won the title of Miss Maja Pilipinas 1992. But, she ended up representing the country in Miss World instead, because the original Binibining Pilipinas World 1992, Marilen Espino, contracted chicken pox on the eve of her departure.

Marina is currently seen on the Kapuso series “Onanay.” She is also one of the faces of multi-business organization SPVTOP International. The other celebrity ambassador is Ricardo Cepeda.
