Hillary-Ann Williams to represent Barbados at Miss Universe 2020

Hillary-Ann Williams has been crowned Miss Universe Barbados 2020; the news was revealed during the premiere of “The Making of a Queen,” a television show featuring Hillary-Ann Williams, along with former beauty queens Shannon Harris, Lesley Chapman-Andrews, and Megan Theobalds in a two-hour presentation. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the pageant organization hosted the telecast instead of the customary annual coronation ceremony.
The 25-year-old is an entrepreneur who owns her own Digital Marketing agency. Hillary rose to national prominence as the finalist of Miss Universe Barbados 2019 and People’s Choice winner. After the reigning queen of Miss Universe Barbados 2019, Shanel Ifill stepped down from her crown responsibilities due to a lucrative modeling contract. Hillary took charge of completing the last seven months of the reign.

Even though she served as Miss Universe Barbados 2019 for just seven months, she executed her reign with style, grace, and an ability to pivot and adapt to an ever-changing world around her even amid the global pandemic. The diva plans to use the platform to advocate for young women who have been victims of gender-based violence. She firmly believes that no child should ever be denied the opportunity to reach their full potential due to gender biases.
Soon after she was announced the winner of Miss Universe Barbados 2020, the stunning beauty took to her social media account to express her gratitude in a post captioned, “It’s such an honor to represent my country, and I can’t wait to make each single one of you proud. For all those that have supported and followed my journey, I thank you so much; big thanks to my friends and family that have been with me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without you!”
Hillary, who will now represent her home country at the prestigious Miss Universe 2020 platform, assures that she will work hard to prepare herself for the competition with dedication and work towards one goal: to make the world a better place.
