Journalist governing Miss Kentucky wins Miss USA Pageant in 2021

A journalist who has dreamed of becoming the Queen of Pageants since high school won the Miss USA title.

Miss Kentucky El Smith said he wanted to compete on the pageant because he saw a high school girl win a local teenage title at the age of fifteen.

And at a spectacular exhibition on Monday night, she won the crown in a national contest in Tulsa, Okurahoma..

University of Kentucky graduates will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in Israel in December.

The victory comes after a long wait for Smith, who said she postponed the contest entry until she did her “big girl job” as a news reporter so she could afford it.

Broadcast journalist El Smith, who had dreamed of becoming the Queen of Pageants since she was only 15, won the Miss USA Pageant title on Monday night’s Pageant in Tulsa, Oklahoma (pictured).

Smith graduated from UKY last year and majored in broadcast journalism.

Since then, she has worked as a news reporter for the WHAS11 station in Louisville, and her colleagues congratulate her on winning the title.

Last week she talked to her colleague Kylie Minogue about the contest, revealing that it was her dream since high school.

“When a high school girl won a teenage title, I’ve been thinking about it since I was 15, and she was everything to me,” Smith said.

“She was smart and beautiful and was involved in everything from cross-country to bands and musicals. That’s why I wanted to be like her.

“But I waited until I could get the job of a” big girl “because I could afford it. “

Competing with 50 girls across the country, Smith put her hand in his mouth to hide her shock when the Pageant won the Miss USA Pageant crown on its 70th anniversary.

“I’ve been thinking since I was 15 when a high school girl won a teenage title. She was everything to me,” Smith told a colleague at WHAS11 in Louisville.

Smith explained that she was waiting for her “big girl” job as a news reporter before she tried to compete on the pageant.

Competing with 50 girls across the country, Smith put her hand in his mouth to hide her shock when Pageant celebrated its 70th anniversary and won the Miss USA Pageant crown.

Not only did she stand out in swimwear and evening dress competitions, but she was applauded by the audience when the company explained how to be more environmentally friendly.

Following Smith’s victory last night, ABC affiliate WHAS11 wrote: This is a great achievement! Our El Smith is your new Miss USA! “

Smith is the second Miss Kentucky winner to win the Miss USA title. Tara Conner won the crown in 2006.

Smith will represent the United States at the Miss Universe Pageant on December 12th at the Red Sea Resort in Eilat, Israel.

Last week, Smith interviewed his colleague Kylie Minogue (who took a picture with him) about the contest, revealing that it’s been a dream for her since high school.

Israeli Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said the pageant will move forward despite a travel ban trying to stop a variant of the Omicron coronavirus.

On Saturday, the country announced that it would ban foreigners from entering the country, extend quarantine for citizens and residents returning from abroad, and resume surveillance of controversial mobile phones designed to track infections.

However, Sunday Razvozov said Miss Universe participants would be exempt while undergoing a 48-hour PCR test and other precautions.

“This is an event that airs in 174 countries, is a very important event, and is a very important event for Eilat,” he told reporters before the weekly cabinet meeting.
