After passing on the Miss World Philippines crown to Michelle Dee last September 15, Katarina Rodriguez said she could not have asked for a better successor. “I was really happy. I’ve known Michelle for a while and we’ve worked together a few times. I’ve gotten to really know her and I really admire her work ethic. She’s very disciplined, she’s very ambitious and she really knows how to really put whatever it is that she is doing ahead of everything else so I looked up to her for that. And I believe from that batch she’s the one who will really pull through and focus talaga sa training niya,” she told PUSH during the recent AHC Korean Eye Cream launch event held in Makati City.
After being vocal about her sentiments about last year’s Miss World pageant, AHC muse Katarina shared her thoughts about the local competition this year. “I think it’s very different being in the pageant and then walking your final walk. So I couldn’t really watch the pageant like the normal audience would kasi sometimes kailangan ako sa backstage and then when I have the free time I go to the front but I think there’s always going to be changes kasi every year may bagong candidates. So the girls really make the show, their personalities, their look, and I think this year it seemed to be a more younger batch, a very, very difficult batch at that kasi there’s so many choices. Lahat sila magaling,” she recalled.
With her pageantry days now behind her, Katarina said she looks forward to delving back into showbiz starting with some new acting projects and her new vlog. “I’m going to start my own YouTube channel! I just bought a laptop the other day (laughs). So I’m excited to start working more on that,” she said.
