Miss World Malaysia 2018 Larissa Ping Liew drew backlash after calling out Malaysian keyboard warriors for cyberbullying Israel’s Miss Universe contestant Tehila Levi on social media over her country’s recent bombardment of Palestine
Following her reaction, Larissa then became the target of cyberbullies, who have been posting profanities to her social media page ever since she spoke up.
Larissa shared the pictures of some rude comments that she received on her social media account and wrote, "Insane".
Malaysians began bombarding Levi, who has served in the Israel Defense Forces, with hateful comments after she appeared in the national costume round of the Miss Universe pageant last week. She was attacked by saying, “Israel babi (pigs),” and “evil country” on her social media pages.
To which Larissa reacted and later deleted her comment that stated, “I’m so embarrassed and mad at our Malaysian keyboard warriors who cyberbullied Miss Universe Israel. It’s leaving such a bad image on Malaysia and it might affect our own Malaysian representative.”
