Angele Kossinda appears in the Miss Universe 2020 preliminaries in a silver gown by Benj Leguiab

Cameroon's Miss Universe bet Angele Kossinda was a stunner at the pageant's evening gown competition, wearing a piece by Filipino designer Benj Leguiab IV.

Benj is a regular in the pageant circuit, and has previously designed gowns worn by Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Gazini Ganados, and Miss Grand Philippines Samantha Bernardo.

The gown he made for Angele was a sparkly silver number with an open back, floor-length cape sleeves, and intricate embroidery.

The beauty queen also wore a Filipino design for her national costume, done by Kennedy Gasper, a fashion student at the Central Luzon State University in Nueva Ecija.

It's a historic run for Angele, as she represents her country in its Miss Universe debut. She will be competing against 73 other candidates in the pageant's finals night on May 16 (May 17, Manila time).
