LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Whether she’s in a gown and high heels or firefighter gear and boots, a Loudoun County woman proved her worthiness this weekend to wear the crown as Miss Virginia USA 2022.
According to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, Kailee Horvath has been a volunteer with the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department since she was a high school senior in 2017. She works as both a firefighter and an EMT with the department
Horvath took over the role of Miss Virginia USA from journalist Christina Thompson.
Before winning her new sash and crown on Saturday, April 16, Horvath was competing in the state pageant as Miss Shenandoah Valley USA. This marks the sixth time she has vied for the title of Miss Virginia USA or Miss Virginia Teen USA, according to her profile on the pageant website.
Meanwhile, Miss Virginia Teen USA 2021 Alyssa Mawyer officially passed her crown to Hannah Grau, who competed over the weekend as Miss Fredericksburg Teen USA.
