LOUTH MIDWIFERY STUDENT TAKES MISS IRELAND 2019 CROWN

A midwifery student, from Ardee, Co. Louth, has been crowned Miss Ireland 2019.


33 glamorous contestants took to the stage to compete for the coveted title at The Helix Theatre on Saturday.


However, it was Chelsea Farrell, 19, who emerged victorious at the glitzy ceremony.

Miss Louth Chelsea Farrell was presented with the Miss Ireland 2019 crown by last year’s winner Aoife O’Sullivan.


She will now represent Ireland at this year’s Miss World competition in London.


Miss Clare Emma Austin and Miss Limerick North Christina Alcazar were first and second runner up respectively.


Chelsea Farrell was congratulated by friends and family, including proud parents, Derek and Carrie, after winning the pageant.

Now in its 72nd year, the Miss Ireland competition continues to be one of the biggest nights in the Irish social calendar.

Presenter and stylist Brendan Marc Scully and former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh hosted the exclusive event.

This year’s judging panel included singer and Dancing with the Stars winner Jake Carter, international stylist Sonja Mohlich, former Miss Ireland and aesthetics clinic owner Rebecca Maguire.

Guests were treated to performances from Eurovision star Sarah McTernan, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Leah Barniville and Ireland’s Got Talent semi-finalist Paul Ryder.
