The Miss Washington competition made its long-awaited return this past Fourth of July weekend, crowning Maddie Louder as the 2021 titleholder.
The event, having taken a year off due to COVID-19, was held at the Little Creek Casino & Resort in Shelton.
Louder, who was a recent Miss Emerald City, will spend the next year touring the state and will compete in the 2021 Miss America pageant in December, marking its 100th anniversary.
A graduate of Oklahoma City University, she will use her platform to support radical self-acceptance and eating disorder awareness.
Along with being crowned the new Miss Washington, Louder was the recipient of a $12,000 scholarship from the organization and a $10,000 scholarship award from the Miss Washington Alumni Association.
In addition, she received $60,000 in honorarium gifts, scholarship funds, and sponsorships.
