Due to the pandemic, numerous African countries, including Nigeria, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Kenya, Namibia, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania, were unable to compete in the 69th edition of Miss Universe but this year, some of these countries came to represent themselves and the continent with some of beautiful ladies you have ever seen.


For the 70th Miss Universe pageant will be held in Eilat, Israel, on December 12, 2021, 8 African countries will be participating in the competition for the ultimate crown. The reigning Queen, Andrea Meza of Mexico, will crown her successor on stage at the end of the pageant.


Kenya, Mauritius, Ghana, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, South Africa, Cameroon


The contest will be hosted by Family Feud Host, Steve Harvey. The pageant is organized by the Miss Universe Organization, which describes itself as “a worldwide, inclusive organization that celebrates women of all cultures and backgrounds and inspires them to realize their goals via experiences that promote self-confidence and generate opportunities for success.”


Contestants will get the opportunity to experience Israel prior to the main competition in December, with excursions to renowned destinations like as the Dead Sea, Tel Aviv, and locations throughout the host city of Eilat.

Miss Kenya : Roshanara Ebrahim



Meet Roshanara Ebrahim, Miss Universe Kenya 2021
Roshanara Ebrahim is a Kenyan model, television presenter, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Kenya 2021.


Miss Mauritius: Anne Murielle Ravina



Anne Murielle Ravina is a Mauritian beauty queen and teacher. She teaches art and design at the high school level and is fluent in French and English.


Miss Ghana: Silvia Naa Morkor Commodore



Sylvia Naa Morkor Commodore is a model and Business Administration student from Ghana. She is a skilled dancer, a talent she discovered while trying to escape adversity as a child. She is certain that dancing will benefit other street youngsters in the same position. Today, Naa aims to be a beacon of hope for youngsters in her community who are forced to live in the dreadful dreams of poverty.


Miss Cameroon: Michèle-Ange Minkata



Michele, 25, graduated from the University of Beau in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Geography. She also works professionally as a model. The founder of ‘Angels and Queens,’ a school she founded several months ago to share her expertise and knowledge about beauty pageants, hopes to empower young Cameroonian girls who want to follow in her footsteps.


Miss South Africa: Latela Mswane



Lalela Umkhosi Wephasek is a Zulu woman who is proud of her heritage.
She is a skilled flamenco dancer. Her name means “listen to the commemoration of the Passover’.


Miss Namibia: Chelsi Shikongo



Chelsi Tashaleen Shikongo is a Namibian model, comedian, and activist. She was born in the Namibian town of Swakopmund, Erongo. She is the eldest of six siblings. She is fluent in both Afrikaans and English. She also learned German and Portuguese.


MIss Equatorial Guinea : Martina Mituy Avomo



She is a 19-year-old from Equatorial Guinea, studying petrochemical engineering and acting as a caregiver for the elderly in a nursing home. She speaks Spanish and French and has traveled to Spain, Cuba, Cameroon, and Gabon.


Miss Nigeria: Maristella Okpala



Maristella Okpala is a Nigerian cabin crew and a dental technician. She was born and raised in Enugu State, Nigeria but she later moved to Anambra State, Nigeria, and is the eldest among four siblings. With her outstanding performance and hard work, Okpala bested 36 other contestants to win the national crown.
