Michelle Dee believes she performed as well as she did because of the foundation Sparkle Artist Management built for her.
Michelle Dee continues her homecoming tour after returning from the Miss Universe pageant with a media conference held at the GMA Network Center where she once again credits Sparkle Artist Management for providing her with a strong foundation going into the pageant.
Speaking to the press, Michelle said that her heart is full seeing Filipinos still giving her a warm welcome back home despite finishing in the top 10 and not bringing home the country's fifth Miss Universe crown. She also grabbed the opportunity to show her appreciation for Sparkle Artist Management.
“Sobrang nakakataba po talaga ng puso na mainit ang pagtanggap sa akin dito sa Pilipinas kahit hindi ko po naiuwi ang korona. I'm just so blessed to have all of your overwhelming support and of course to my GMA Sparkle Artist Management, thank you so much. My whole campaign wouldn't have been this strong if I didn't have the biggest network behind me and championing me as well,” she shared.
This isn't the first time that Michelle has credited Sparkle Artist Management for preparing her for the competition. During Michelle Dee's send-off back in October at the Novotel Hotel in Cubao, she shared that Sparkle believed in her even before she decided she would become a beauty queen.
“GMA took me in when I was just known as the daughter of Melanie Marquez and when I didn't have any experience in the industry. It's because of GMA that I really grew to be this artistic person,” she recalled. “I chose to be an actress first before a beauty queen because I recognized that I still didn't have the confidence to be in front of a large congregation or in front of the camera. GMA really helped me mold that personality and truly they are the best.”
With it being less than a week since her return from El Salvador, Michelle says it is still hard for her to get over everything that has happened during the competition.
“I am still on cloud nine. It feels like only yesterday that GMA sent me off and time flew so fast. I always say that in pageantry it always feels like a dream especially the day after because you're grinding and grinding and everything is so fast until the next day, tapos na. I am still overwhelmed and still on cloud nine to be able to win the hearts of so many Filipino through hard work and dedication,” she said.
Michelle also gamely answered event host Martin Javier's question about what exactly was the secret weapon that kept her centered during the Miss Universe coronation night.
“I can't say there's one secret weapon because it's an accumulation of so much experience, knowing what my mission was, having that deeper purpose of fighting for the Philippine and fighting for my advocacy which is towards autism acceptance,” she explained.
“Everything happens for a reason. 'Yung pagtingin mo sa lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay mo, that's really what can power you through anything that can happen. As long as you have a positive perspective and outlook through anything that happens, kayang-kaya mo 'yan.”
