Miss Earth bets amused by the Filipinos’ hospitality

PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte, Oct. 30 (PIA) - Ten candidates for Miss Earth 2017 got a firsthand experience of Filipino hospitality in their recent eco-tour at the Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center in Barangay Balaoi in this town.

Miss Earth 2017 candidate Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand, who was crowned as Miss Earth-Hannah’s 2017 in a mini-pageant sponsored by Hannah’s Beach Resort owner, retired Colonel Ricardo L. Nolasco Jr., said that she was greatly entertained by the warm welcome by the Filipinos during their sorties to different locations in the Philippines.

“I’m so glad that I’m here in the Philippines. I’m really amazed by the courteous attitude of the Filipinos who welcomed us here,” she said.

For Miss Ninoska Vasquez, the Miss Earth 2017 candidate from Venezuela, said that aside from the hospitable attitude of the Filipinos, she has also seen that Filipinos are happy people.

“After this pageant, I will return to the Philippines especially in Hannah’s together with my family because I feel safe due to the hospitality and courteous attitudes of the Filipinos in the Ilocos,” Vasquez said.

Miss Hanna Lee, the Miss Earth candidate representing Korea and a foreign service student at the Lyceum University in Intramuros, Manila, described the hospitality trait as an innate culture of every Filipino.

Aside from the three Miss Earth 2017 bets, the other candidates who visited Hannah’s Beach Resort were: Miss Austria- Bianca Kronsteiner; Miss Czech Republic – Iva Uchytilova; Miss Ecuador Lessie Giler Sanchez; Miss Guatemala – Maria Jose Castaneda; Miss Israel – Elian Qupti; Miss Sweden – Camilia Fogestedt; and Miss Uganda – Mutesi Josephine Nabirye.

All had expressed their heartfelt thanks to the warm welcome shown by the Filipinos during their short stay in the Philippines.

The coronation night for the Miss Earth 2017 pageant is set on November 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

For his part, Nolasco said that Hannah’s is continuously sponsoring the world’s prestigious beauty pageant “to achieve the commitment of Hannah’s to make Ilocos Norte as the tourism capital in the Philippines and in the whole world.”

He said that the eco-tour of the 10 Miss Earth 2017 candidate to Hannah’s Beach Resort coincided with the formal opening of the resort’s new two-storey premium suites.

Hannah’s, which is dubbed as the Crown Jewel of the North due to its unique environment ambiance and beaches, has a lot of extreme sporting activities like zip line adventure, ATV riding, and several sea water activities. The resort was a recipient of various prestigious awards in sustaining and protecting the environment.

Among these recognitions were the “Gawad Amerika” and the award for the most outstanding individual initiative on environmental management. (JNPD/FGL/PIA-1)
