Quezon Province’s Ahtisa Manalo is set to represent her hometown in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) Pageant - six years after an impressive first runner-up finish on the Miss International stage.
Though coming from a hiatus from beauty pageantry, the 26-year-old queen looks determined to run it back and claim the MUPH crown, hoping to be the country’s bet for a 5th Miss Universe title when it takes place in November in Mexico.
Her last stint was during the 58th Miss International competition in Tokyo, Japan where she placed second, only behind Venezuela’s Mariem Velazco.
A native of Candelaria, Quezon, the 26-year-old beauty queen was announced officially as the province’s representative through an official Instagram post by MUPH Quezon Province last January 27, preceded by a series of teasers that described Ahtisa as a “woman of substance, known for her unique qualities and exceptional capabilities.”
Ahtisa confirmed her MUPH 2024 delegation in two separate Instagram uploads, using as caption what appears to be her official hashtag for the competition, #AHTISAPA.
“I am delighted I can now finally share the news to everyone that I am Miss Universe Philippines Quezon Province! This is just the beginning of our long journey together. I can’t wait to share more of what I’ve been preparing for,” wrote the beauty queen on Instagram.
Ahtisa, an accountancy graduate from a university in Lucena, Quezon, was only 20 when she won her Miss International Philippines title in 2018.
