“I’m incredibly honored to be able to bring the crown back to the island,” she said. “To hear my name called as Miss Rhode Island 2019 was surreal. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and looking out into the audience and seeing 25 of my friends and family cheer me on as my dream came was very emotional.”

Aside from being crowned Miss Rhode Island 2019, Andrade, a sophomore at Endicott College, won the dance talent award as well as overall talent and was voted Miss Congeniality, which is the only award that is decided by the candidates themselves.
