Miss Soweto 2016 Nthabiseng Kgasi of Protea Glen took a courageous step and entered Ms South Africa 2018 and made it into the top 40 of the pageant.

The beauty queen was disappointed that she did not make it into the top 12 but she is not letting this get her down.

“I took a lot from the pageant, making it to the top 40 is a way of preparing for Miss South Africa 2019 as I now know what is expected of me,” she expresses confidently.

Making it to the top 40 did not bring her down but motivated her for other challenges related to the media field, the bravery she took to be a part of the biggest pageant in the country had an effective outcome in light of the fact that she took pointers to prepare for upcoming pageants.

Kgasi is making big moves to build her brand and within the vast media space. She is taking courage from her foundation of modelling and continuing with Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects she had begun in 2015 and is also entering into radio and television.

This is only the beginning of greater success in her life. Kgasi is graduating towards a degree in Communications and Marketing at Monarch University in May is one of her biggest achievements and she is looking forward to it.

She is using the knowledge she obtained in university practically as she is now a presenter at a local radio station, K-Radio where she hosts the weekday afternoon drive.

The former Miss Soweto is using her position as a radio presenter as a stepping stone into the media industry.

She will be presenting a new television breakfast show titled ‘Wake Up in Soweto’ which will be air on Soweto TV.

The show is set to focus on content about ‘kasi life’ and Kgasi is very excited to be a part of the production according to her.
