The search for the most beautiful girl in Swaziland will finally begin after the organising team had been silent for a while—and sadly, there will be no place for anyone in high school in this year’s contest.

The Miss Swaziland beauty contest organising committee has announced that the official start of this year's scouting season will start on Saturday, August 5 at Siteki Hotel.

“We’ve decided to start with Lubombo region this year. So we invite all aspiring beauty ambassadors to join us on this day,” announced the pageant director Nosisa Maziya.

She said the finals were scheduled for November 2017, they were now ready to hit the road and find ambassadors who will compete in this year's finals.

The director mentioned that all interested candidates must be between the ages of 18-24, must be18 when entering and may turn 24 during year of reign and strictly not a high school pupil.

“She must be a natural born female, not married, divorced or widowed or have any children and / or pregnant. She must be a resident of Swaziland for five full years,” Maziya said.

“The vision of Miss Swaziland is the pageant not the person.

The vision aims at inspiring socially responsible young women who can carry the issues that have been crippling our nation,” she said, adding that the team she chose to assist her in running the pageant were experienced and highly skilled. “We have the same dream and the same goal,” she added.

The new committee to oversee the running of the Miss Swaziland Pageant was unveiled on May, 12 at the Summerfield Botanical Gardens.

During the unveiling of the committee, it was revealed that Swazi Mobile has been listed as one of the sponsors for the Miss Swaziland beauty pageant this year and the top 20 finalists will assist in Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the sponsors.
