This month, 94 contestants battled to win the Miss Universe 2018 title.

Competition at the prestigious pageant, which has been taking place for 67 years, looks to be extremely tight.

Glamorous women from all corners of the world strut their stuff down the catwalk in Bangkok, Thailand.

So who will scoop victory this year?

Pageant contestants do everything it takes to stand out for the crown.

After months of preparation at the gym, the ladies spend hours getting ready to walk the runway.

Skin is oiled up, makeup is applied and hair is perfectly coiffured.

It is then time for the dazzling bombshells to dress in their specially created gowns for the evening.

This year, costumes are some of the most elaborate we’ve ever seen.

Sarah Rose Summers, who won Miss USA, paid tribute to her middle name with her outfit.

Balancing a giant flower on top of her head, she sashayed in a full skirt that was completely covered in petals.

Bright red lipstick, vine-covered tights and killer heels completed the vibrant get-up.

Great Britain’s contestant turned just as many heads in her Suffragette-inspired look.

Dee-Ann Kentish Rogers celebrated “votes of women” with her feather-adorned outfit.

She grinned and struck a pose as she carried a replica ballot box into the arena.

Other noteworthy looks include Filipa Barroso’s and Romina Lozana's.

The former paid homage to Portugal’s fishing industry by decorating her skirt with two dolphins.

While the latter dressed as a sexy siren to evoke images of Peruvian folklore.

The winner of Miss Universe 2018 will be announced on December 16.

Comedian Steve Harvey and supermodel Ashley Graham will be covering the highly-anticipated event.

Over the coming days, contenders will be put through a number of gruelling tasks.

They will be showing off their eye-popping figures in the swimsuit round, before glamming up for an eveningwear catwalk show.

While good looks are of paramount importance, participants are required to have the personality to back it up.
