Forget Melbourne, the place to watch the race that stops the nation this year is Perth with a big number of premium Melbourne Cup events taking over the city.
Miss Universe Australia Olivia Rogers is blowing off an invitation to attend the Birdcage at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne to turn out at Tipple’sfestivities at Kitchener Park in Subiaco on November 7.
“I was the face of the races in Adelaide last year, so I went to about 10 race days,” Rogers said.
“And I’ve also been a couple of times in Melbourne, so it will be interesting to see what it’s like in Perth.”
The 25-year-old, who will compete in the Miss Universe pageant on November 26 in Las Vegas, also revealed her secret to pulling off a winning look in the fashion stakes.
“I think you have a better day if you’re feeling comfortable in your outfit,” she said.
