The second ever Miss Universe Bahrain has officially been crowned.

The crown was passed on from Miss Universe Bahrain 2021 Manar Jess Deyani to this year’s recipient, Evlin Abdullah-Khalifa.

The 24-year-old was given the title in the final episode that aired on Sunday after the glamorous Miss Universe Bahrain 2022 beauty pagean first kicked off the week prior on September 7, 2022.

During the final Q&A section, the model was asked, “When do you think a woman becomes empowered?”

To which she answered, “I think a woman becomes empowered when she knows herself, when she knows her values and when she knows what she is capable of. An empowered woman is a role model of the people and who actions lead to success. And I’m here to be that woman to lead the people to success and believe in themselves.”

With over 300 applicants, she was chosen by a panel of talented judges including the likes of Egyptian actress Mai Omar, content creator Faryal Makhdoom, Black Eyed Peas star Jrey Soul and others.

Besides modelling, Khalifa has other interests such as dancing, taekwondo and is also a trained pianist. With a background in finance and banking, she has previously also been seen in a make-up advertisement for Dior.

Bahrain’s second Miss Universe winner will go on to represent the country in the 71st Miss Universe pageant, where the final winner will most likely be crowned in 2023.
