The Miss Universe Organization, which presents the annual Miss Universe pageant, is still owned by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.
This was confirmed by Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, on Twitter Dec. 23.
She made the reaction following rumors that the prestigious beauty contest is no longer owned by the private American holding company for talent and media agencies which is based in Beverly Hills in California.
“Endeavor still owns MUO. I believe a rumor was started by a former hairstylist. Not sure why,” said Shugart in her tweet.
Founded 11 years ago, WME-IMG acquired the MUO from Donald Trump in 2015. The company represents artists in movies, television, music, theatre, digital media, and publishing. It also represents the NFL and NHL.
The Miss Universe contest will not be held this year due to the pandemic. Reports said that the 2020 edition of the pageant will be held in the US early 2021.
