Miss Universe winners in Manila for fashion show

MANILA, Philippines — Reigning Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel Peters and 2016 Miss Universe Iris Laurence Mittenaere are in town for a tour of the country.

The beauty queens arrived on separate flights yesterday morning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Nel Peters of South Africa arrived at around 10 a.m. on a Philippine Airlines flight while Mittenaere of France came in shortly before noon on a Thai Airways flight.

Officials of the Manila International Airport Authority public affairs office assisted the beauties, who were both elated to have returned to the country.

Sources said Nel Peters and Mittenaere would be among the first to visit Boracay when the country’s top tourist destination reopens.

They were reportedly invited to a fashion show in Makati.
