Miss West Coast finalist and Perth model Faith Anderson plans to launch dress label

Perth model Faith Andersonis on a mission to prove she’s not just a pretty face.

The Miss West Coast finalist is among the entrants from across the State taking part in the annual pageant, and hopes to win a place in the national Miss Universe Australia competition.

But Anderson doesn’t have her sights set on the same modelling fame claimed by the likes of Jennifer Hawkins and Jesinta Franklin, but instead hopes to build an audience as she prepares to launch her own dress label, Faye Studios.

She is in the process of working through samples, focusing on ethical production and sustainable fabrics.

“My main mission is I want to build a community that empowers women. I never want it to just be about selling my clothes,” Anderson told Confidential.

“I want to use this platform to have events and workshops, just empower women to go for their dreams and believe they can achieve anything they set their mind to.”

Anderson, 19, is studying fashion marketing through a New York university, and says the fashion industry wasn’t always her career ambition.

“Fashion is new, I have always wanted to do business because my mum is a business owner, but I (didn’t take it seriously) until I started modelling and was more exposed to the industry,” she said.
