Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo attended Wednesday's plenary session
Uganda's Parliament on Wednesday moved a motion to pay tribute to Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo for her 'outstanding performance at the 68th edition of the Miss World Pageant'.
Abenakyo made it to the top 5 contestants at the beauty pageant which was held in China last year where she was named Miss World Africa.
Ngora District MP Jacqueline Amongin moved the motion in presence of the beauty queen, her family and Miss Uganda CEO.
"MPs appreciate Quiin Abenakyo for selling Uganda to the world, with her beauty and intelligence; say she well represented the country at the Miss World event," a tweet by Parliament said.

The legislators urged responsible ministries of tourism and foreign affairs to support the Miss Uganda Foundation in organizing the pageants in an effort to promote Uganda as a tourist destination.
Early this year, Abenakyo was named Uganda's tourism goodwill ambassador, replacing socialite Zari Hassan.
Parliament also applauded Miss Uganda Foundation led by Brenda Nanyonjo for organising the annual beauty pageant.
