NAMIBRE on Thursday made a donation towards the winners of the Miss Namibia pageant, Chelsi Shikongo, Miss Namibia 2021, Annerie Maré, first princess, and Michelle Mukuve, second princess.
NamibRe sponsored the winners with an additional N$20 000 cash prize.
NamibRe spokesperson Elizabeth Nailenge said the company earlier this year sponsored the pageant with N$30 000 to help fund operational costs, as well as the production of profiles for the top-15 finalists.
“Today is a very special day for us at NamibRe. Our vision is to be the preferred reinsurance company locally, regionally and globally. We aim to bring that vision to life every day through our operations and in everything we invest in. That includes our corporate social investment projects, such as this one,” she said.
Nailenge said NamibRe can only be the best if they invest in Namibian people and the environment.
"We made the decision to support the Miss Namibia pageant as we have done for the past few years as a result of that philosophy.
"Chelsi is a representation of us as a people and a nation, and the responsibility lies with all of us to make sure we send her into the world with the best.
"Today we pledge an additional cash prize that we believe will aid the girls during their reign, and to further represent us at the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants," Nailenge said.
