Peden Ongmu Namgyal fails to make it to the top 10 of Miss Supranational 2017

Peden Ongmu Namgyal, who was India's entry to Miss Supranational 2017, failed to reach the top 10 at the main event, which was held on December 1 in Poland's Spa Resort of Krynica- Zdroj. While the 22-year-old contestant from Gangtok, Sikkim, made it to the top 25, her hopes of wearing the winner's crown could not be fulfilled after her name wasn't part of the top 10 list.

After an Indian, Srinidhi Shetty, bagged the title of Miss Supranational 2016, there were immense expectations from Peden. The beauty queen started on a good note as she competed with 64 contestants at the event. Peden, who has a diploma in food production from Amity University, looked beautiful in a black and white semi-sheer gown with lace and floral detailing. She opted for this after the swimwear round, in which she rocked a white one piece. Once she was picked in the top 25, Peden changed into a stunning black dress, which had a flared skirt and rose motifs.

Besides her sartorial choices, Peden also impressed the judges and the crowd with her singing capabilities, as she sang Katy Perry's Roar, along with Miss South Africa and Miss Rwanda.
Peden did her schooling from the city's Tashi Namgyal Academy. Before winning the title of Miss Diva Supranational 2017, she had also bagged the Miss Sikkim 2017 and Miss North East Diva 2017 crowns. She loves to sketch and trek, and is a huge fan of Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio. In fact, she has watched his films, Titanic and Wolf Of Wall Street multiple times.
