Pinoy pride! Lawmaker wants Samantha Bernardo commended for runner-up finish in Miss Grand Int’l 2021

Bacolod City Rep. Gregg Gasataya has filed a resolution for the House of Representatives to congratulate and commend Samantha Bernardo for winning First Runner-up in the Miss Grand International held in Thailand last Saturday.

In his resolution, Gasataya said Bernardo embodied Filipina beauty and confidence after consistently garnering high votes in pre-pageant competitions such as swimsuit and national costumes.

Bernardo donned an eagle-inspired outfit designated by Patrick Isoren not only to woo the crowd but also to raise awareness on the Philippine Eagle landing her in the top 10.

“Whereas, Ms. Samantha Bernardo continued to raise awareness about Philippine ecology through stunning fans with her evening gown inspired by a species of bird endemic to Palawan, the Yellow-throated Leaf Bird created and designed by Louis Pangilinan.

Gasataya said Bernardo brought honor to the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic and serves as an inspiration to the Philippine youth with her confidence, possible disposition, and display of woman empowerment.

If approved, a copy of the resolution will be given to Bernardo and her family, support team, and designers as a reminder of their victory bringing honor to the Philippines.
