RSCVA to consider providing up to $350,000 to bring Miss USA Pageant to Reno

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Reno Sparks Convention and Visitor's Authority Board of Directors will consider providing up to $350,000 in special funding to bring the Miss USA Pageant to Reno at its meeting on Thursday.

According to an agenda item, the board will "review, discussion and possible action to provide special event funding for the Miss USA Pageant. The Board of Directors is being asked to discuss and possibly approve a request by the International Management Group, owners of the Miss USA Pageant, to provide special event funding for the 2019 Miss USA pageant to take place in Reno/Sparks in an amount not to exceed $350,000."

According to the Miss USA Pageant's website, this year's pageant "airs live Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET only on FOX."

The meeting begins at 9 a.m.
