Samantha is vying to be the first Filipina to win the Miss Grand International title
MANILA, Philippines – Miss Grand Philippines Samantha Bernardo wowed the crowd on Tuesday, November 30 with her butterfly-inspired national costume for the Miss Grand International pageant.
The Philippine representative was seen donning a gold hand-beaded bodysuit, complete with huge white wings and an elaborate headdress. Louis Pangilinan designed the costume suit and leg straps, Santino Rivera created the wings and headdress, while the shoes are from Jojo Bragais.
Samantha’s costume was inspired by the Paruparo Festival held in her hometown of Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Voting for the best national costume will run from December 1, 1 am until December 2, 12 pm.
Prior to the national costume competition, Samantha also made waves online during the swimsuit segment, where she was included in the Top 5 “Best in Swimsuit” finalists.
Samantha is vying to be the first Filipina to win the Miss Grand International title. The coronation night will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, December 4. – Rappler.com
