Shudu Musida shows off her Designer of the World gown for the Miss World pageant

Shudu Musida is doing the most to impress at the Miss World preliminary stages in Puerto Rico – and it’s paying off!

The former Miss SA has showed off her impeccable wardrobe, including her Xitsonga heritage, as well as blown the judges away in her head to head interview.

Now Shudu has revealed another edge over her competitors – her Designer of the World gown. And we couldn’t be any more prouder as the beautiful creation is inspired by the Miss SA crown.

Shudu will compete in the Miss World finals on Friday, 17 December 2021.

DESIGNER OF THE WORLD GOWN

Shudu’s Designer of the World gown was designed by local designer Warrick Gautier and was inspire by Buhle, the Miss SA crown first worn by Zozibini Tunzi in 2019.

The dress features a bodice made in a pattern similar to the crown, with a long red skirt and flowing train.

She said of her inspiration: “When we started discussing ideas around what I wanted my Designer of the World gown to be, I knew that I wanted to incorporate one specific thing…’Buhle’. The Miss South Africa crown that I wore with so much pride and with an immense sense of responsibility knowing what the crown represented, not only to myself but also for so many young girls who see the crown for what it truly means.

SHUDU CONTINUES TO MAKE TOP PREDICTIONS LIST

Meanwhile Shudu Musida has continued to place in the Top 3 in predictions of who will win Miss World.

The Limpopo model has been a firm favourite from the outset and has remained that way during the preliminary stages.

Pageant predictors Go Pageant revealed that Shudu stood a great chance at taking the crown. The commentator said in a YouTube video: “Shudu is a beauty with a great mind. She is easy to talk to and her answers are always clear. She is very enthusiastic and I like that about her”.
