Just in! Namibian beauty queen Chanique Rabe has officially been crowned Miss Supranational at the pageant held in Malopolska, Poland.

Chanique Rabe representing the Southern African country of Namibia has just been crowned Miss Supranational at the 12th edition of the beauty pageant held in Malopolska, Poland today (21 August).


NAMIBIA TAKES HOME THE CROWN


Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild representing Thailand passed down her crown to the winning lady. Miss Supranational is an annual international female beauty pageant run by the World Beauty Association which is based in Hong Kong. The first Miss Supranational pageant was held in 2009 in Poland where most, but not all pageants have taken place. The pageant’s motto is: Glamour, fashion and natural beauty.


The 12th edition of the pageant was set to take place towards the end of 2020 but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. This year beauty queens from 58 different countries competed in the pageant. The judging panel included reigning queen Anntonia Porsild, Mister Supranational 2019 Nate Crnkovich, and Miss Supranational 2011 Monika Lewczuk.


Chanique Rabe brought the Miss Supranational crown to Africa! While South Africa’s Thato Mosehle was the second runner up and Puerto Rico’s Karla Guilfu was crowned the first runner-up.


What does Miss Supranational receive? A crown, a sash and cash! Miss Supranational is handed $35 000 which equates to R519 000.

THATO MOSEHLE IS THE SECOND RUNNER UP


South Africa’s Miss Supranational representative, Thato Mosehle was the second runner-up at the pageant making it all the way to the top three. Fans across the world showed Mzansi’s queen love in the comments section of the live stream through out the pageant. Although she did not bring home the title, Mosehle was grateful for the experience of a lifetime.


“Woke up with an overwhelming sense of gratitude today. So grateful to be here, to experience this incredible journey and meet so many wonderful people,” wrote Mosehle on Instagram.
