The 2020 White Star Miss Soweto Top 20 Finalists.
The Top 20 Finalists of the White Star Miss Soweto Pageant met down the Toyota Dealership in Klipspruit, Soweto for a meet and greet media session.
This was to be the last stop on the road to the grand showdown which will be at the Soweto Theatre on the 28th, where the Queen will be crowned. previous title holders include Basetsana Khumalo and Lerato Kganyago.
Colin Sithole, who took over the reins as Director from his father, Co-founder, Leonard Sithole, said he was proud of how the brand had grown.
“I want to pay tribute to my father, who grew this brand to what it is. I’m very proud to be standing here and see the high standard that has been set and we’re committed to seeing it grow,” Sithole said.
The 20 Finalists got a chance to engage with the media and send a message to the people of Soweto before they take to the stage on the 28th.
22-year-old Top 20 Finalist from Protea North, Anathi Conjwa, said she was pleasantly surprised to have made the cut.
“Honestly, I’m humbled and grateful. I’m not the standard model type you’d expect and this is my first time in a pageant, so to be part of the Top 20 finalists has been an incredible experience. I appreciate the platform I’ve been given and look forward to improving the lives of Sowetan people.”
The 2020 White Star Miss Soweto Pageant Queen will be crowned on the 28th of November at the Soweto Theatre.
While 21-year-old Nastacia Ndlovu from Diepkloof said the journey had taught a lot about herself and the world around her.
It’s been an education in a way”, she said.
“Looking at a pageant from afar is very different from being a part of it. I feel a responsibility now to try and change the world. It’s a great responsibility,” she said.

Sithole closed the session by sending a heartfelt message to the people of Soweto.
“I want to thank Sowetans, we would have not been able to do this without the people of Soweto. We are proud of the ambassadors we’ve been able to produce, and look forward to a bright future together,” he said.
This year’s edition will be the pageant’s 41st year running and will feature a star-studded judges panel that includes broadcaster, businesswoman, and 2002 Miss South Africa runner-up, Bridget Masinga, former fashion editor and blogger, Grace Mantju and veteran singer/songwriter Judith Sephuma.
